Week 1. December 8.I have been recruited to the Great War's front line as a nurse. I am very nervous and a pretty scared. Us nurses share the same danger of the men fighting, especially when we tend to the soldier's wounds out there. I work around the clock and i am very tired. I just wish i could get some sleep. I'm afraid that if i am too tired i won't be able to concentrate and i'll mess something up. I am a really caring person and i would hate it if it was my fault if someone died.
Week 2. December 15
My days during the war are pretty much the same. Long and hard. This war is pretty depressing, it feels like the only thing i see are dead men. I mean yeah, i save some of them and i patch them up. But there are more deaths than anything. Time seems so slow now, i can't believe this war has been going on for soooo long ! I just want it to be over :(
Week 3-Christmas On Christmas day, December 25th, the war basically stopped.. People from both sides would call out and requested to not fire any shots. Men from both sides of the western front start singing christmas carols. All of the soldiers start to get together in no-mans land, sharing cigarettes, laughing and having a good time, and sharing gifts.
Week 4. January
I really can't wait until i get home ! I'm so excited i get to see my family again. The only thing i really worried about is my boyfriend. I hope he's home waiting for me. You'd think we would of both been on the western front but we weren't. I was on the Western front and he was on the eastern. So maybe he's still alive. I'd love to think he would be, i would be so depressed if he wasn't.. I also can't wait to see my little puppy dog :) He's the cutest little thing you've ever seen.
